ACK duration for broadcasts

How does the prism chipset know when not to expect ACKs?  This might
occur in broadcast packets (in AP or ad-hoc modes)?  Is there some kind
of bit to inform the chipset not to expect ACK, or does it figure this
byitself (is when duration=0, or according to the mac address)?

Any info on this will be helpful.  Thank you in advance.
