Yes.  I've bought such card and the kernel messages from hostap seem to
indicate a card without flash.  Sorry, I just could not afford spending
more time on discussions about generic PCMCIA problems.

Actually, somebody could make a Prism3 CompactFlash card work with
linux-wlan-ng, although it wasn't trivial.  The success story is here:
