protocol 1600 is buggy, dev wlan0

I have Hostap running on a Zcomax xi-325h card in a PLX adapter.
Debian GNU/Linux Testing release
Current Kernel is 2.4.21-pre7,  Wireless Tools 26, Wireless Extensions 
16-6,
hostap cvs as of 04-12-2003, The card seems to be up and functioning 
correctly but
everyonce and a while I have this error display to the main console.

protocol 1600 is buggy, dev wlan0

is this a problem or is it just debug code...
any Ideas?
