essid missing.

hi,

i've posted this query before,
wondering why has the essid gone missing
when i do "iwconfig wlan0".
(which was previously there b4 i upgraded the packages below)

this happens after i upgraded:
 - hostap to 2002-09-12 version
 - wireless tools v25

previously using:
 - hostap 2002-05-19
 - wireless tools v25 pre8
 - pcmcia-cs 3.2.0


anyone got any clue what must i do to get back the ESSID on
the ap please kindly share with me asap?
